CRESCENZVValerie Showers Crescenz began piano lessons at age 3 and has been making music ever since. She has a B.S. in Music Education, a M.M. in Piano Performance, and a M.M. in Composition, all from West Chester University.

She has been sharing her knowledge and love of music as an instructor at West Chester University, Penn State (Lima campus) and Delaware County Community College. She is currently the general music teacher at West Bradford Elementary School, Downingtown, PA., where she also directs the chorus and Orff Ensemble.

Mrs. Crescenz has also served as a choir director, an organist, and has also performed as a pianist/vocalist for a number of years. Her real love, however, is composing. She is a member of ASCAP, American Composers Forum, Music Educators National Conference, Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, American Choral Directors Association and International Alliance of Women in Music. Valerie has been commissioned by Pennsylvaina Music Educators Association for both elementary and middle school chorus festivals, by the Durham (NC) School for the Arts, and most recently by the Adams County (PA) Jr. High Honors Chorus Festival.

Her compositions are published by Hinshaw Music, Oxford University Press, BriLee Music, Abingdon Press, Alliance Music, Shawnee Press, Hal Leonard and Lawson-Gould (Alfred).
